Our CPR & First Aid Classes

Performance Occupational Health Services (POHS) is a training facility offering classes for CPR, First Aid, and CPR Instructor training via Providence Health Training Center and the American Heart Association (AHA).

Our instructors use AHA modules for teaching, with both video and hands-on materials. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a 2-year CPR eCard through AHA.

We are proud to offer Spanish CPR classes with our fluent instructor; both Heartsaver/First Aid and BLS certification options are available. Please contact us to learn more about Spanish-led CPR classes.

Why POHS?

BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers: Our BLS CPR course is designed for healthcare providers, such as nurses, doctors, and paramedics. The course focuses on the latest techniques for performing high-quality CPR, including the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and airway management. Our experienced instructors provide hands-on training and practical scenarios to ensure that students have the confidence and competence to handle any emergency situation.

CPR Heartsaver and First Aid for Non-Healthcare: Our CPR Heartsaver and First Aid course is designed for non-healthcare individuals who want to learn life-saving skills for use in their personal and professional lives. The course covers basic CPR techniques, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and the use of AEDs. In addition, it includes training in basic first aid techniques such as bandaging, using an Epi-pen, and choking relief.

Our Onsite Services Manager is happy to give custom quotes for group classes. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy professionals and individuals.

We have done onsite classes for many local companies in the area; we are able to travel to your facility or host classes at our clinics in Longview or Vancouver WA.

All of our courses are taught by certified AHA instructors who are experienced in emergency medical care. We take pride in providing a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages active participation and hands-on practice. Our students leave our courses feeling confident!

CPR FAQs

  • Class typically covers topics such as performing CPR on adults, children, and infants; using an AED; treating choking; controlling bleeding; managing shock; treating burns and other injuries; and responding to medical emergencies.

  • A CPR and First Aid class may last between 2-6 hours. It does depend on several factors - contact us with your needs and we can give you a better idea of the class length.

  • We strive to accomodate you. Nights, weekends, onsite at your facility or home, hybrid class - we’ve got you covered. Just let us know in our contact form what you need and we will do our best to make it happen.

  • You will receive an eCard via the American Heart Association. It expires two years from your class date.

  • Just let us know! We are happy to make necessary arrangements to ensure your participation and safety during the class.
