Calling All Bus Drivers!

If you’re a bus driver, you already know there’s a lot more to the job than just showing up and driving. Staying healthy and meeting required screenings is part of keeping your route running safely.

DOT Physicals Are Non-Negotiable

All CDL holders, including bus drivers, are required to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam to maintain their medical certification. This exam checks vision, hearing, blood pressure, and other related areas to be sure you're physically able to drive safely.

Drug & Alcohol Testing

Bus drivers are subject to federal drug and alcohol testing regulations, including:

  • Pre-employment testing

  • Random testing

  • Post-accident testing

  • Return-to-duty and follow-up testing

💡 CBD Warning: Even though CBD is legal, it may still cause a positive drug test due to THC contamination. The DOT does not make exceptions for CBD use. Read more about CBD & DOT drug testing →

Need a Respirator Fit Test or TB Test?

If your role includes cleaning duties, working in healthcare environments, or helping passengers with medical needs, you may also need:

  • N95 respirator fit testing

  • TB testing (skin or blood tests available)

CPR & First Aid Certification

Many transit employers require CPR and First Aid training, especially for school bus drivers. We offer:

  • Monthly CPR & First Aid classes (Spanish classes available)

  • Hybrid options (online + in-person skills testing)

  • Onsite training for groups and companies

Be Ready For Fall

Starbucks is bringing back the PSL, school clothes are already lining store shelves, and even though it’s not officially August yet, summer feels like it’s almost over. Before you know it, kids will be back in class and bus drivers will be back on the road! Make sure your checklist is complete before the season starts. We offer everything you need to stay compliant and ready to roll.
